- A recent Readership survey confirms Alanba second position significantly above the rest
A survey by the Gulf Opinions Center for Polls and Statistics about the most read newspapers in Kuwait has shown that Alanba is in the second position.
The ratings of Alanba are close to first-place newspaper and well above the one in the third position.
The survey confirms Alanba’s continuous progress in the last few years.
The newly released findings of the survey are in line with the traffic figures on Alanba website.
Independent reports show that Alanba online has the highest traffic among electronic sites of Kuwaiti newspapers.
The survey clearly showed that Alanba is well placed in the second position among all categories such as Kuwaitis, expatriates, males and females.
Its ratings are significantly higher than the third newspaper.
The survey was conducted by The Gulf Opinions Center for Polls and Statistics and covered Kuwaitis and Arab residents.
Respondents were asked about the "most-read newspaper".
This survey comes as part of other projects carried out by the Center for different entities and covers various types of media, their ratings and their impact on Kuwait society.
The survey used a random stratified sample of 961 kuwaitis and Arab residents aged 15 years or older with a margin of Error of 2.1%.
The sample was divided by gender, location of residence, and age to have the widest coverage of the different socio demographic groups.
The results showed Alanba in the second position, among the most-read Kuwaiti newspapers, and only 7 points below the first position; yet Alanba rating is almost double that of the newspaper in the third position.
Findings by nationality: Locals Vs expatriates
Concerning the difference by nationality when identifying the most read Kuwaiti newspaper, the findings showed a consensus among Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis on AlRai newspaper being in first place followed by Alanba in the second. It is noteworthy that among Kuwaitis, only four points separated AlAnba from the first-place newspaper.
Survey Methodology
The methodology used for collecting the data was through face to face interviews. The fieldwork was carried during January 2016 using tablet computers in various areas of Kuwait, such as sport clubs, coops, educational institutions (schools, universities, colleges), in addition to work places and public institutions. It covered all governorates. The distribution was set by the sampling expert Dr. Ahmad Al Sultan.
